The Government of Nigeria has alerted that there is an alleged racketeering of COVID-19 vaccine in the country.

This was disclosed by the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health, Abdullazzi Abdullahi at the joint national briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19

He alleged that some people are selling their vaccination slots.

While assuring that every citizen will be vaccinated, Abdullahi also averred that testing rates will be sustained to ensure that positive cases are identified, isolated and treated.

He said;

“We are sustaining distribution of available commodities, PPEs and consumables to ensure availability at all times for end users at treatment centres.”

In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19 has disclosed that 8,000 people have been vaccinated across 35 states including the federal capital territory (FCT).

This disclosure was made by Faisal Shuaib, the executive secretary of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) during a media briefing

Shuaib said only Kogi state is yet to receive the vaccine because its cold chain facility for preservation of the doses is under repair.
