Ibrahim Salami, one of the Cotonou-based lawyers of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho, has revealed what Nigerian government told their Benin Republic counterpart about the activist before he was arrested.

Salami disclosed that the President Muhammadu Buhari led- federal government accused Igboho of smuggling arms into Nigeria.

He said the Nigerian government also accused the freedom fighter of calling for secession and disturbing the country.

“Nigerian government said Igboho was involved in arms trafficking into Nigeria.

“The second one is that he is causing disturbances in Nigeria and the third one is that he is trying to divide Nigeria into two or three,” he said.

Recall that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) has launched a manhunt for Igboho after his Ibadan residence was invaded by the Nigerian secret police agency.

Spokesperson of the DSS, Dr Peter Afunanya, had disclosed that the freedom fighter house was invaded by a joint team of security operatives following intelligence reports he was stockpiling arms.
