Minister of youth and sports development, Sunday Dare has praised D’Tigress for qualifying for the final of the ongoing Afrobasket championship in Cameroon.

Recall that the Nigerian ladies defeated Senegal 73-63 on Friday night to book their third consecutive final ticket after enjoying a fine run in the competition.

This was contained in a statement released on Saturday by Sunday Dare, the minister of sports.

Dare expressed his excitement over D’Tigress’ overall performance so far.

The minister also urged the players not to lose focus ahead of the final game against Mali.

Mali defeated Cameroon 52-51 in the other semi-final clash.

“You have done Nigeria proud and I can only urge not to rest on your oars until the trophy is won so that you can maintain your Queens of the Court title,” the minister said.

“I have no doubt in my mind that you will win the final game in grand fashion because I believe in your ability to do it for Nigeria.”

D’Tigress are just a step away from winning the women’s Afrobasket championship for the third time in a row as they play Mali in the final, which is billed for Sunday evening.
