Oyetola releases N300m to 1,501 retirees as pension arrears

Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola yesterday released N300million to 1,501 retirees as pension arrears.

A statement by the Head of Service, Dr. Festus Oyebade, said Governor Oyetola is committed to improving the welfare of retired civil servants and workers.

He said the fund is besides the statutory remittance Oyetola makes every month, being N508 million approved for the payment of retired civil servants, and an additional sum of N150 million approved for the payment of retirees under the contributory pensions scheme.

“The names of selected retirees have been pasted on the notice board of the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation, State Pension Bureau, Local Government Pension Bureau and the Office of the Head of Service.”

“Payment to the selected retirees begins from October 25.”
