Minister of state for power, Goddy Jedy Agba has stated that the federal government will continue to support anti-corruption agencies to hold public officers accountable.

This was stated by Agba at a strategic engagement of President Muhammadu Buhari’s national anti-corruption marathon sports festival.

In a statement issued on Friday by Ofem Uket, the minister’s spokesperson, Agba said no meaningful economic development can be attained in a corrupt society.

The minister said the Buhari administration is determined to develop and build capacity in strategic sectors of the economy to eradicate corrupt practices.

In his remarks, Nebolisa Anakor, permanent secretary of the ministry, appealed to Nigerian sportsmen and women to use sports to unite the country through great talents exhibited in sports.
