Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Ajibola Basiru has stated that Nigerians have a lot to learn from the birth of Jesus Christ.

This was contained in a Christmas message released to newsmen by the senate spokesperson.

According to Basiru, Jesus lived his life to change lives, restore hope to the hopeless even as he built an army of followers and endured in the face of persecution being born in a simple manger.

While remarking that with a solid faith in God, prayers and perseverance, Nigeria will overcome its challenges, he revealed that the country’s leadership has not been taking things lying down.

He said “I want to felicitate Christians and of course the entire constituents of Osun Central on the occasion of this years Christmas celebrations, marking the birth of the Lord, Jesus Christ. We have a full course to thank God for sparing our lives and for seeing us scaling social and economic hurdles year 2021 placed before us.

“We have to do things in moderation and with caution as we transit from one place to another to join family members, friends and relatives to celebrate the birth of the Messiah. COVID-19 is still ravaging the World, let’s still stick to its protocols by using nose masks, avoiding crowded places and going for vaccination.”

While calling for more prayers for peace and prosperity in Nigeria in 2022, Senator Basiru called Nigerians to eschew violence, embrace religious harmony and see each other as one to ensure peaceful co-existence for further unity of the nation.
