A cheque of N18 million has been given to families and next-of-kin of slain police officers in Katsina.

The money was presented by the Commissioner of Police in Katsina, Idrisu Dauda.

Presenting the cheque to 20 families on behalf of Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, Dauda explained that the exercise was part of the IGP’s Family Welfare Insurance Scheme being given to families of deceased police officers in the country.

He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money while also appreciating the efforts of the IGP for improving the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
