The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has denied arresting Eberechukwu, wife of the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano.

The EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, who disclosed this said Eberechukwu is not in the anti graft agency’s custody, Vanguard reports.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that EFCC arrested her husband, Willie Obiano on March 17, 2022, at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos State as he attempted to leave the country, hours after handing over to his successor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.

Eberechukwu had last week declared interest to contest in the 2023 elections to represent Anambra North District at the Senate under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
