Farah Dagogo, a member of the National Assembly representing Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency, has had his case dismissed by the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt.

The Rivers State Government has filed two charges of conspiracy and cultism against Dagogo.

Following a letter from members of the state prosecution team informing them of their engagement at the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, the case could not proceed to full trial before Justice Chinwendu Nworgu on Tuesday.

Cosmos Eenweluzo, the defense counsel, had requested that the case be put on hold until the prosecution counsel returned from the appeal court before the trial could begin.

In response to the request, the trial judge requested that a new date be set.

He then adjourned the case until June 10th and 13th for a formal hearing.

One of the defendant counsels, Emmanuel Rukani, told reporters outside the courtroom that the absence of the prosecution counsel could be an attempt to “delay the trial.”
