The Leader-General of the All Christian Practical Praying Band, Dan Nwokolo, has been abducted by suspected gunmen.
The assailants invaded the residence of the cleric in Ufuma, in the Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, and abducted him after he finished a midnight prayer session.
According to a family source, the abductors picked the cleric from his car in front of his house and immediately zoomed off in their vehicle.
The source said the hoodlums had yet to establish contact with Nwokolo’s family.
He said, “The incident happened last night (Wednesday) in front of his house as he was coming back from a prayer session. The hoodlums cornered his vehicle right in front of his compound, ordered him down and whisked him away in their vehicle and immediately zoomed off.”
The state police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, promised to get back to our correspondent after making enquiries.
He had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
