Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, has instructed Army Cadets of Regular Course 69 of the Nigerian Defence Academy to use their newly acquired combat skills and competencies to address security issues in the nation.

Additionally, he urged them to contribute to ongoing operational efforts to reestablish peace and security in the nation’s troubled regions as junior commanders.

In a statement released on Saturday by Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, Yahaya was described as the Special Guest of Honour at the Battle Inoculation phase of Exercise Camp Highland, which concluded the Army cadets’ final training before they graduate from the esteemed Academy in October.

The statement partly read, “The recent review of training curriculum in the academy has brought about remarkable improvement in the quality of cadets’ combat training, in tune with NA’s deliberate capacity development effort towards tackling contemporary security challenges.
