The Federal Government has sent out mobile police units and armed soldiers to help clear a traffic jam on the Abuja-Keffi road.

The traffic jam, which started as early as this morning, Thursday, at 5 a.m., has persisted with no end in sight.

However, when they arrived, the soldiers who are assisting Federal Road Safety Corps officials had successfully stopped driving against the flow of traffic.

Private and official vehicles travelling one way are currently being forced to turn around as a part of the solution to the gridlock.

As of right now, cars travelling from Abuja to other parts of Benue have also come to a standstill after being obstructed by people driving against the flow of traffic.

Also, heavy vehicles, including trailers, have been cleared off the road.

A DAILY POST correspondent observed that the soldiers and mobile policemen are using minimum force to instil discipline in recalcitrant passenger vehicle drivers.
