The presidency has said president Muhammadu Buhari and those working with him are counting down to the days they will leave office.

Femi Adesina, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the president made this known on Sunday while speaking on Channels TV.

According to Adesina, the president and those of them working with him can’t wait to leave the presidency.

He was reacting to a statement credited to Buhari that he can’t wait to leave power.

Adesina said, “Those of us who have been with him since 2015 are also counting down, we can’t wait to leave.”

He further explained why they are all eager to leave the presidency after two terms in government.

He said, “It’s a lot of responsibility and work, and may be little appreciation of the populace.

“So, by the time you are winding down, you can’t wait to go.

“It’s not a matter of Buhari hurrying out, it’s a matter of constitutional limitation, he has spent seven and a half years.”
