Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has said that his administration will support military officers and their families.

He went on to say that his administration has implemented a security sector reform that prioritizes the welfare of service members, and that military officers and their families will continue to receive support from the state government in appreciation for their service to the state and the nation as a whole.

The governor then donated N5 million to start the appeal fund for the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem.

“The bravery, patriotism, and sacrifice of the security and military services underpin the stability of the country. Armed forces service members in particular face and reduce overt and covert threats to the nation’s territorial integrity in many volatile areas of society. Many gave up their precious lives so that we can live. In order for the country to survive, we must continue to recognize the contributions made by the military forces.

“I want to reassure the military personnel that our administration is committed to enhancing the current level of cooperation as we assemble here today. The security sector reform implemented by our administration puts the wellbeing of service members first.

“Today, I recommit to the wellbeing of our service personnel. Our veterans and their families will continue to receive our support in recognition of their service to the fatherland.

“It is on this note that I launch the appeal fund for the 2023 Emblem for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day with a sum of N5 million.”

Also, The State Chairman of Nigerian Legion in Osun State, Combare Oladipo Peter thanked the state governor and past donor and pleaded for more fund for the remembrance of those who laid their lives and those who became maimed while ensuring national global peace.

“We thank our past donors and we appeal that this year’s donations be more as it through this, we can appreciate, honour and remember the services rendered by those who laid down their lives and those who became maimed and permanently disabled for all to have enshrined National global peace Once again, I thank you all for been here today to celebrate with us while I pray ”
