Almost everyone in the football world has been shocked by Arsenal’s performance so far in the 2022-2023 Premier League season. Therefore, the Gunners’ match against Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday is a chance for them to make a statement.

Arsenal has not beaten Tottenham Hotspur away from home since 2015. It’s interesting that Arsenal, who have been playing well in the Premier League, will visit the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to see how much they have improved.

Note that the Gunners have won 14 and lost just one of their 17 Premier League games this season. Coach Mikel Arteta and his team have put themselves in first place on the league standings with 44 points after 17 games, five points ahead of second-place Manchester City.

The north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur is set to begin at 17:30 on Sunday, and Mikel Arteta of Arsenal acknowledged that his team and they have something to prove to Spurs.

In the first north London derby of the season, Arteta and the boys defeated Spurs 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, but that is insufficient evidence that the Gunners have arrived. To end their seven-year wait for an away win in the derby, they must defeat Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday.

Coach Mikel Arteta said:

The way that we have performed and the results that got confidence-wise has put us in a good position, but that is something that you have to show every match and every opponent, especially every away game brings challenges and this is no different.

We are going to have to go there, play our way, and win the match.

Arsenal’s five-point lead at the top of the table will remain intact if they win the north London derby. While if Spurs can defeat the Gunners in the derby, they will maintain their chances of finishing in the top four.
