Nigerian Army Releases Hotlines

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army released a list of hotlines earlier today to report acts of violence committed by unscrupulous individuals during the presidential elections scheduled for February 25th.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Brigadier-General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, made the announcement on Tuesday.

He stated that the public should use the hotlines to support security agencies’ efforts to ensure peaceful elections across the country, as well as to report on the behavior of troops deployed to provide security during the election.

According to Nwachukwu, this is part of the Nigerian army’s effort to assist the police, which is the lead security agency, in conducting free, fair, and peaceful elections.
