Ade Dosunmu, a former PDP candidate for governor, and Adesunbo Onitiri, a senatorial candidate for the Labour Party in Lagos Central, and have defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to a source, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, has received the support of Onitiri and Dosunmu for his re-election bid.

In April 2022, Mr. Adesunbo Onitiri, declared that he is set to contest the Lagos Central Senatorial seat, again, in 2023, after purchasing a form at the national headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Abuja.

Again in October 2022, the renowned socio-political activist and critic, Chief Adesunbo Onitiri, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Labour Party (LP) to contest the forthcoming Lagos Central Senatorial election.

Onitiri said his decision was based on the party’s lack of internal democracy and to heed the call of Pa Ayo Adebanjo to support Peter Obi’s presidential bid.

Before his defection, Onitiri was a strong member of the PDP where he contested against Senator Oluremi Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2019 senatorial election in which he was narrowly defeated.
