After a 10-day vacation to Europe in preparation for his inauguration on May 29, the incoming president, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, arrived back in the nation on Saturday.
Just two weeks after his return from a three-nation tour that included stops in London, Saudi Arabia, and Paris, Tinubu left the country on May 10.
He was welcomed by a number of people at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, including Kano governor Abdullahi Ganduje, House deputy speaker Idris Wase, and Senate president Ahmad Lawan.
According to Vanguard, the visit is a part of his efforts to work with some of his senior advisers to fine-tune the transition plans and programs as well as his policy options.
According to an earlier statement from the Office of the President-elect signed by Tunde Rahman, the trip became necessary to allow Tinubu carry out some tasks without unnecessary pressure and distractions.
“He will use the opportunity of the trip to finetune the transition plans and programmes, and his policy options with some of his key aides without unnecessary pressures and distractions”, Rahman had stated.
