Sheikh Tijjani Auwal and A’isha Saji, the two commissioner-nominees who were absent from the state assembly’s screening process due to their Hajj in Saudi Arabia, were assigned to the ministries of Religious Affairs and Women Affairs, respectively.

The governor said;

Our people deserve the best and we must give them the best. We will be running a transparent government that will always put the people first, Kano State and the people of the state must remain our number one priority.

Roll your sleeves and buckle your belt as you are joining me in this important journey of repositioning our dear state and returning her on the path of prosperity and development.

He said that all the commissioners were round pegs in round holes and would hit the ground running.

For instance, I was a classroom teacher and I have held the position of commissioner for higher education in the past. Even today (Monday) after the swearing in, I went straight to the office and met with all the directors. This is to tell Kano people that we are ready to assist our governor to deliver on all his campaign promises, he said.
