However Oshoala, on Thursday, said her father did not exactly find the celebration pleasing and inspiring.

She wrote on Instagram: “My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration but then again, life is a collection of MOMENTS.”

Nigeria are currently top of their group with four points and play the Republic of Ireland in their final group game.

Oshoala scored in the 3-2 victory against The Matildas after coming on as substitute.

The Barcelona Femeni forward was introduced in the 64th minute after passing a late fitness test.

Oshoala capitalised on a sloppy defending from the co-hosts to score the Super Falcons’ third goal in the thrilling encounter.

Uchenna Kanu and Osinachi Ohale were the other scorers for the Super Falcons in the game.

She also made history after becoming the first player to score in three consecutive World Cups.

Oshoala scored her first World Cup goal for the Super Falcons in the 3-3 draw against Sweden at the 2015 edition hosted by Canada.

The 28-year-old was also on target four years ago in the 2-2 draw against South Korea.
