Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, the minister of steel development, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for attracting a $3 billion investment pledge from Indian investors during the Nigeria-India economic roundtable in India.

According to Abdullahi O. Haruna, the minister’s special adviser on media and publicity, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, one of India’s leading private steel producers, has committed to investing $3 billion in iron ore processing and steel development in Nigeria.

This pledge, it said, came after extensive discussions on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in New Delhi, India, between President Tinubu and the leadership of Jindal Steel and Power Limited.

Minister Audu expressed his delight at this historic development, praising President Tinubu for his extraordinary efforts in attracting such significant investment for Nigeria’s steel sector.

This significant investment pledge is seen as a game-changer that promises to revitalise and transform the nation’s steel industry,” it  said, adding that the news coming a day after the Presidential Tribunal upheld the elections of President Tinubu adds an extra layer of significance to this achievement.

As the country eagerly anticipates the positive impact of this massive investment, it marks a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s industrial growth and economic development, the statement added.

Wike mocks PDP over tribunal judgment

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said Peoples Democratic Party decision to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s election was a wild goose chase.

He stated that the PDP, which he claimed to be a member of still had no chance of victory at the tribunal.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Wike said he didn’t know who was giving PDP hope

On Monday, the Presidential Election Petitions Court upheld the election of Bola Tinubu.
But during the interview, Wike, who commended the judges, said President Tinubu won the election squarely.
