The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ondo Secretariat has been overrun by police agents and their Directorate of State Security (DSS) brethren.
Outside the secretariat, the armed security guards parked their cars.
Kennedy Peretei, a spokesman for the Ondo PDP, stated that the security personnel were present to stop a planned peaceful protest by party youth.
Peretei claimed that the purpose of the demonstration was for the young to demand information regarding the whereabouts of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who has been missing from the State since April 2023.
He said staff were not allowed into the secretariat.
The ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) on Sunday raised the alarm over plots by the PDP and some APC chieftains to instigate crisis in the state.
It said Governor Akeredolu would soon be back to the State.
The Ondo APC stated that Governor Akeredolu has been performing his official duties irrespective of location.
