  • Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information, criticized an earlier report of his death as unfortunate, unethical, and false.
  • The DHQ also advised the public to rely on only credible sources for information on the activities of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has reportedly passed away, according to a claim that has been denied by the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) as untrue.

The DHQ called the article “fake news” and advised the public to ignore it in a statement released on Tuesday.

“The Chief of Defence Staff is alive, well, and currently carrying out his duties diligently,” the statement said.

The DHQ also advised the public to rely on only credible sources for information on the activities of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
