  • Atiku visited Central Primary School in Jada and presented scholarships and awards to outstanding students in the Ganye chiefdom of Adamawa State.
  • The PDP flagbearer was officially welcomed back to the town by his family, friends, and kinsmen at an event on Wednesday morning organised by the traditional ruler of Jada.

Indigent students from his alma institution, Jada, Adamawa State, were granted scholarships by former vice president Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday.

Journalists were given access to a statement that Atiku’s Special Assistant (Broadcast Media), AbdulRasheed Shehu, released.

Atiku went back to Central Primary School in Jada on Wednesday as part of his 77th birthday celebrations, according to Shehu. He had rebuilt the school years earlier while working on charitable endeavours.

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate addressed the students and expressed gratitude to God for his opportunities to thrive in spite of his humble upbringing.

He urged the pupils to work hard so they could also become successful in the future like him.

“As I have become something in life despite my poor background, you too can be if you work hard,” the 2023 presidential candidate told the schoolchildren.

“We will support and help you to become something better in the future,” he promised.

Atiku’s Special Assistant, Ahmed Shehu, described the ex-vice president as an icon of Nigerian democracy for his generosity, especially in promoting education.

The District Head of Jada also visited Atiku to pay homage on his 77th birthday, marked across Adamawa State.

Giving vulnerable Jada students scholarships were among the charity activities surrounding Atiku’s birthday as he encouraged youth to emulate his life journey of perseverance.
