  • Appoint four new members of the National Council on Privatization

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new members of the National Council on Privatization (NCP), representing the private sector in the Council.

They are Oluwole Osin (South-West), Mohammed Mustapha Bintube (North-East), Olayiwola Yahaya (North-Central and Akwa Effion Okon (South-South).

A statement issued on Thursday by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale said the President charged the new members of the Council to bring the best of their private sector experience to bear in ensuring that Nigerians receive the greatest value and impact from investments that were made on their behalf.

Similarly, the President Bola Tinubu has approved that the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri serve as Chairman of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

Aside Lokpobiri, other Nigerians appointed into the Board include Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe — Executive Secretary, Oritsemyiwa Eyesan — Member / EVP Upstream, NNPCL, Gbenga Komolafe — Member / CEO, NUPRC, Bekearedebo Augusta Warrens — Member, Nicolas Odinuwe — Member, Rapheal Samuel — Member, Sadiq Abubakar — Member and Olorundare Sunday Thomas — Member.

In a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President on Thursday, noted that the President expects this highly qualified body of experts to discharge their duties with his patriotic resolve to significantly enhance indigenous industry participation in the energy sector as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s mandate to achieve the goal of 70% indigenous content and participation in the nation’s energy industry during the lifespan of this administration.

Tinubu’s media aide also noted that the appointment was in conformity with Sections 71(1), 72, and 73 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act (2010).
