Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, asserts that his client had no inclination to depart from Napoli. Osimhen recently penned a contract extension with the Partenopei, securing his stay at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona until 2026.

Amid previous speculations linking the 24-year-old striker with a summer exit and the rejection of a substantial offer from Saudi Arabia by the Serie A champions, Calenda dispels any notion of Osimhen’s desire to leave.

Calenda clarified, “I’ve heard rumors suggesting I didn’t want him to renew and that I’d prefer to take him elsewhere. It’s the usual blame game. It wasn’t true. I represent Victor, and I want what’s best for him. We both sought a renewal since the summer.”

Reflecting on the summer, Calenda revealed that despite tempting offers, Napoli’s president, De Laurentiis, was keen on retaining Osimhen. The agent emphasized their readiness to stay if leaving was not the desired course of action.

“If we wanted to leave, we would have said so. Last summer, numerous offers came in, some significant ones, but De Laurentiis wanted to keep Victor, and we made ourselves available,” Calenda told Ii Corriello Dello Sport, solidifying Osimhen’s commitment to Napoli’s success.

Setback for Chelsea as Osimhen Commits to Napoli with Contract Extension

Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, has dealt a blow to Chelsea and other top European clubs by agreeing to a contract extension with his current club, Napoli.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the 24-year-old striker is set to sign a one-year extension, extending his contract until 2026, accompanied by a new release clause.

The anticipated release clause is expected to be approximately €130 million, potentially making Osimhen the most expensive player in Italy and one of the most expensive globally when activated.

Romano stated, “Napoli reach an agreement in principle with Victor Osimhen on a new contract with a release clause included! It will be valid until June 2026, one more year. Final value of the clause, TDB — could be around €130m as per Sky. Official announcement expected soon.”
