BREAKING: Kidnappers release abducted Ekiti schoolchildren children

The nine abducted pupils of Apostolic Faith Group of Schools, Emure-Ekiti, Ekiti State have regained their freedom.

The schoolchildren were released alongside their teachers in the early hours of Sunday.

The children and their teachers have been with the kidnappers since they were kidnapped last Tuesday.

It is not immediately clear if a ransom was paid or not.

The abduction of the children further underscored the heightened insecurity in the South west state as the abduction followed the killing of two monarchs in the state a day earlier.

However, the police downplayed the two incidents saying they were exception rather than the norm and that they were blown out of proportion.
