Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has declared three days of mourning for two prominent sons of Adamawa State who died last week.

Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde who hails from the state died on Saturday, May 24 and the lawmaker representing Ganye constituency in the state House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Musa was reported dead earlier, the same day.

“The period of prayer and mourning takes effect from Monday 27th to Wednesday 29th May 2024,” the governor declared in a statement released Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

The governor said the deceased were eminent individuals who would be missed by many.

“The death of these illustrious sons of Adamawa is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all people of the state,” the governor said.

He added, “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished anti-corruption crusader and a much-loved police officer, Ibrahim Lamorde. I also mourn the demise of the late Musa Abdulmalik, an accomplished legislator. I know their loss will be deeply felt throughout the state and by countless people around the country.”
