The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of training, Frank Mba, has announced plans to renovate police colleges in Lagos, Kaduna, Maiduguri, and Enugu.

Speaking during a visit to the Police College at Oji River, Enugu State, Mr. Mba said the upgrades would modernise the colleges, which hold a special place in Nigeria’s history. He noted that the renovations would not only improve training conditions for Nigerian personnel but also make the colleges suitable for hosting law enforcement officers from other countries.

At the Oji River College, improvements will include fixing the perimeter fencing, upgrading access roads, and enhancing the clinic to serve both trainees and the surrounding community.

“We want the people of Oji River to access healthcare services here. The host community should feel the positive impact of having a police college nearby,” he said.
