  • Climate change experts advocate for climate-resilient road construction in Nigeria, emphasizing advanced drainage systems and risk assessments to combat environmental challenges
  • The N-Care framework aims to enhance road durability and reduce maintenance costs, addressing the urgent need for infrastructure adaptation to climate impacts

Climate change experts call for climate-resilient road construction across Nigeria to help the nation adapt to growing environmental challenges.

This call came during a lecture at Kaduna State University (KASU), focusing on innovative strategies for adapting Nigeria’s road infrastructure to climate impacts.

The workshop, led by Professor Auwal Farouk Abdussalam, principal investigator of the N-Care framework, gathered experts from engineering, government, and academia to discuss solutions.

The N-Care framework, a climate adaptation initiative funded by TetFund, proposes advanced drainage systems, climate-resilient materials, and thorough climate risk assessments to protect Nigeria’s roads from flooding, heat stress, and other environmental issues.
