The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has proposed renaming the National Hospital, Abuja’s radiotherapy centre, in honour of former First Lady Maryam Abacha.

Senator Tinubu made this appeal during the 25th anniversary celebration of the National Hospital, which was themed “Celebrating 25 Years of Quality Services and Expert Care.”

She highlighted Maryam Abacha’s foresight and efforts in establishing the hospital and suggested that renaming the cancer centre would be a fitting tribute to her contributions.

She praised the hospital for its significant role in advancing healthcare in Nigeria and training specialized medical personnel. She also urged the staff and management to remain resilient and deliver high-quality medical care.
