The governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, says he is hale and hearty following a road accident on Sunday evening.
Radda said he is currently at his residence and only under observation to ensure his health is stable.
WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the governor’s convoy was involved in a head-on collision with a Golf car along the Daura–Katsina road.
The governor was travelling with his chief of staff, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman-Nasir, and one other person when the accident occurred.
They were all rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Daura, before being transferred to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
The governor’s chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, confirmed in a statement on Monday that the victims had received medical attention.
Kaula-Mohammed said Radda thanked the people of Katsina for their concern and prayers during the trying time.
He said the governor addressed the people in a short live video from his residence after undergoing initial medical checks.
“Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Dear brothers and sisters of Katsina State and beyond, we are deeply grateful for all your prayers and concerns,” the governor said.
“By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident, but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed.
“I’m pleased to confirm that I remain in good health and high spirits. Once again, thank you for your heartfelt prayers.”
