Foods That Help You Get Healthy Hair

Salmon

Salmon fish is loaded with the strong hair supporters like vitamin D and protein, and it also contains omega-3 fatty acids that promote hair growth by keeping your scalp healthy.

Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds supply you with an abundance of vitamin E, which will enhance blood flow to the scalp and promote faster hair growth.

Avocados

Due to their high concentration of essential fatty acids that can naturally found in skin cells (which help to keep your skin smooth and supple), avocados are an age-old beauty secret.

When topically applied to the hair and scalp, avocados have the added ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

For topical use, mix a little avocado with sour cream (which contains lactic acid to help exfoliate dead skin and clean up buildup on the scalp) and apply to your hair and scalp for about ten minutes before washing off.

Almonds

Almonds will make your hair grow faster and thicker due to their high biotin content. One cup of these nuts contains nearly one-third of your daily requirement. You should be able to see the results in a month or two of adding them to your diet.

Vitamins

Vitamins are essential for healthy hair. Vitamin A and C foods support connective tissue for a strong scalp and immune response for healing fissures from scratches and dry skin.

Foods hat are loaded with these vitamins include milk, cheese and yogurt, red peppers and orange juice.

Several B vitamins aid scalp condition for healthy hair. Enriched bran cereals may contain several B vitamins as well as vitamins A and C. Carrots, spinach, red peppers and cantaloupe have them all in varying concentrations as well.

Iron

Iron is essential for  healthy hair because it plays a major role in forming hemoglobin, the red pigment in red blood cells that carries oxygen in your blood. When you have a healthy level of hemoglobin in your blood, this means that ample oxygen and nutrients are being fed to your organs and tissues, including your hair.

Lack of sufficient iron in your diet will result in iron deficiency anemia, which is a major cause of hair loss in adults. Your hair follicles require oxygen and nutrient-rich blood supply to produce thick and healthy hair. People with anemia often have thin and unhealthy-looking hair.

In summary, eating a healthy diet is not only good for your hair, it is also good for your skin and general wellbeing.

If you are not eating a healthy diet, spending money on expensive hair products will be a waste.
