Nigerian lady claims to be ogbanje as she celebrates mammy water goddess

A Nigerian lady has gone against the societal norm of claiming to be either a Christian or a Muslim to publicly celebrate the river goddess, Mammy water, on her social media page.

Known simply as Chinemerem Obieze, the lady who claimed to be an Ogbanje is annoyed with the way people renounce mammy water because of their faith but are quick to run to the goddess for water to drink and use in their daily activities.

Sharing photo mammy water, Obieze said she is proud of the river goddess and that if she does not sing for it, what then does she gain.

She also shared a photo of herself on the water on her Instagram page.

When condemned for her belief, Chinemerem replies trolls in another Facebook post:

While many Nigerians do not want to be associated with the African gods, American singer, Beyonce dressed up like the Osun river goddess for the 2017 Grammy awards. The American singer also dedicated her twin children to the Yoruba river goddesses Osun and Yemoja.
