A Nigerian lawyer has taken to social media to bring to the attention of the government some expanding potholes on a certain Lagos road.

While celebrating the expanding potholes on a section of the Kudirat Abiola Way, Ikeja, Lagos, the man gifted them with 2 bottles of coke drink.

He wrote:

Please join me in celebrating the life of these 3 wonderful pot holes in front of Zenith Bank, Kudirat Abiola Way, Alausa, Ikeja. They keep getting bigger and deeper everyday. Pls RT until @jidesanwoolusees this.

2024–2025 saw Nigerian Monarchs intervene in boundary clashes — Here’s what happened

The post which has since gone viral got a lot of mixed reactions. While some claim it is normal to have such on Nigerian roads, others believe it is time for the government to take action on the high rate of potholes on roads across the country.

See reaction:

*** potholes that you can count is that one pothole? there are several roads across the state that has been reduced to one lane due to its bad nature. I guess those one would deserve ‘Trophy’ not ‘coke’

*** No no no…pls come to GRA ikeja….it seems the rich ones dig these holes to keep their money in it…Deep shit ‘

*** So sad. Unfortunately if this is what it takes to remove the veil/plug from eyes/ears of sanwo-olu and his “formidable” team and gingers them to address the bad and worsening state of roads all over Lagos, then it’s worth it. Mr Governor has been all talk no action over this issue
