“I did not collect the money alone, I was contacted by a staff of UNIBEN identified as Christy Oni, in the Department of Theatre Arts to look for persons seeking employment in the institution, which I did. I cannot actually say the exact amount collected from the applicants but I know it’s in millions of naira.

“The woman (Christy) died two months ago. That was why this problem came up. The people had been begging me to help them find job and I decided to help them when the opportunity came.

“She contacted me for the job, I gave the deceased UNIBEN staff (Christy) N1.2 million. I have already told them I will pay them back, but they should give me a little time.

“I was caught inside UNIBEN when one of the victims saw me and raised the alarm.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, Edo State, Danmallam Mohammed has warned the general public, especially job seekers to be careful of who they transact business with.
