52 days after prolonged and unannounced exit from the Sunshine state, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has finally returned to the state.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that there were indications from Alagbaka, the secretariat of Ondo state which reveal that all might not be well with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s health as he has been away from public glance for a while.

The Governor who returned to the state on Friday at about 5:30pm was followed by some federal lawmakers from the state.

“Yes, I needed to seek medical attention. It was nothing so serious as overblown because it is routine. But on my return, I needed to take some time off to strengthen the attention based on advice. It wasn’t as serious as people blew it, he disclosed.

It was gathered that the return of the Governor sparked wild jubilation among members of his cabinet and the event was broadcast live on radio and television stations owned by the state government.

Many government activities have paralysed owing to the long absence of the governir who decided to stay in the nation’s capital to rest while treating all files from the state, it was learnt.

“I am back now – stronger and more refreshed. So, certainly I should be able to do better work for the people. I have been in Abuja because I needed to re-appraise and do my work. And at least, I have treated most of your (Ondo State) files in Abuja”, he disclosed.

“I am here to serve the people of Ondo State with full vigour and that is all I would say.”, he insisted.
