Talented young Nigerian artiste, Fashaye Williams Oluwashola popularly known with his stage name, Ayanfe, was last known to be signed to a music record company, AUDIO RELIGION WORLDWIDE where he released his debut single ”ORI MI”, before Davido Music Worldwide, DMW, showed interest in the upcoming artiste and finally concluded a deal with him in January, 2020.
Popular Singer, Davido who is currently the the Boss of DMW announced Ayanfe as the latest member of Davido Music Worldwide via his Instagram story where he shared a video of the contract being signed.
Who is Ayanfe?
Ayanfe is a multi-instrumentalist, an amazing singer with a high range vocal ability. To top it all up, he’s an energetic performer. He explores a fusion that sways from Afro-soul to Folklore and Alternative. He best describes his music as “Story-Telling”.
Ayanfe, transliterated in Yoruba means “chosen to be loved.” Young, energetic, soulful, Ayanfe is true to his chosen name. He is beloved. If you don’t already love him, all it takes is one listen to his wonder record “Orimi” and you too will be love-struck.
Early Life/Education
Fashaye Williams Oluwashola whose state of origin is Ekiti was born in 1996 and brought up in the ancient city of Ilorin, Kwara state.
Ayanfe grew up in a family that sings, especially his mother and this clearly explains the genesis of his talent. His church, the Redeem Christian Church of GOD (RCCG) also helped him to discover that music was a path he was going to thread.
He is currently a student of Mathematics at the Osun State University.
Music Career
Ayanfe who had a musical background from home joined a Christian fellowship and became the lead singer. Things picked up very fast from there and he made a cover of Adekunle Gold’s “Already” which went viral. He also did a cover of Kiss Daniel’s “Mama” which earned him a deal in the Music Industry.
Ayanfe specializes in ‘alternative RnB‘. According to him, it is RnB with a spice of Afro-Nigerian Feel. It is magnetic and magical.
He got inspiration for his debut single ”ORI MI” when he wanted to do a song, paying homage to the elders. And nature, novel, life experiences inspires his music generally.
He inspires as a young boy to be one of the greatest musician ever. He had challenges like every upcoming artistes and his major challenge was getting people to know him and getting his face out to the Limelight has been very challenging.
