”A nomination is a huge achievement” – AKA speaks on Burna Boy not winning Grammy Award

Renown South African Rapper, AKA has congratulated Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy after he was defeated by legendary singer, Angelique Kidjo, to win the Grammy Awards in the World Best Music Album category at the 62nd Grammy Awards which held last night in Los Angeles, California.

As soon as the news broke, trolls stormed AKA’s Twitter page to hear what he will say about the loss Burna Boy suffered.

Recall that Burna Boy and AKA went at each other over the xenophobic attacks inflicted on Nigerians by South Africans in their country.

With the Grammies over and Burna Boy going home, many expect AKA to express excitement, but he said;

“I never hated Burna Boy. All I did was stand up for my country. I think it’s time to move past this narrative. It’s tired. Like I said, even a nomination is a huge achievement”.
