Barely seven days after five officials of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) were kidnapped on Obajana-Kabba Road, Kogi State Police Command have confirmed that they have been freed on Tuesday in Kogi state.

No fewer than five officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who were also kidnapped on Ayingba Road have been freed too.

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Kogi State Police Command.

The police in the statement disclosed that all 10 kidnap victims were hale and hearty, and have reunited with their families.

However, the statement did not say whether any ransom was paid or how much.

The JAMB workers were said to be traveling from the exam board’s Abuja office to Kogi ahead of a mock exam while the NSCDC personnel were on their way for a  promotion examination in neighbouring Benue State when the kidnappers accosted them.
