Lagos state Police PRO, Opetodolapo Badmus has cautioned Nigerians agiainst buying phones from roadside hawkers as it has led many to jail.

The Police PRO, stressed that so many people are behind bars for buying used phones from street hawkers because most of the phones they sell are stolen.

She further said that people should not give their phones to strangers to make calls because their phones can be used to perpetuate crime.

In her words; “Never share your phone with strangers and untraceable people!!!! Technology has made crime and criminals easily traceable……Be sure of who is using your phone for conversations…..be sure of the conversations he/she is making! Just the way you should be sure of where you are buying phones…..Don’t patronize road side hawkers, don’t stand on the street to buy phone 📱 no matter how cheap it is…..you may end up being interrogated on the source of your phone!!! Caveat emptor….so many people are behind bars for such reasons!!!! Be wise. “
