The Emir of Rano, one of the newly created Emirates in Kano state, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila II is dead.
This is coming hours after WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Emir of Rano, Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila ll was rushed to a hospital yesterday, May 1, over an illness.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the emir passed away on Saturday at a hospital in Kano at the age of 75.
The Turakin Rano and House of Representatives Member of Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure, Alhaji Kabir Alhassan Rururm confirmed the death.
He said the late emir would be buried this evening in the emirate.
The late emir was survived by two wives and 17 children.
Recall that the Emir was said to have been sick and hospitalized before he gave up on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, Rano Emirate is one of the four newly created Emirates in Kano State.
In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has performed the installation of four new Emirs of Rano, Bichi, Karaye and Gaya Emirates before the Speaker of Kano state House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Alhasan Rurum and other top government officials.
