NYSC DG Celebrates One Year In Office, Re-dedicates Self To Service

The Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim on Sunday, 10th May, 2020 clocked one year in Office as Director-General.

Speaking during the presentation of anniversary card to him by Management of the Scheme at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja on Monday, 11th May, 2020, General Ibrahim praised the Almighty God for guiding and protecting him throughout his first year in Office.

He attributed the successes recorded during the period to the collective effort of all staff of the Scheme, adding that NYSC is a family.

The Director-General expressed appreciation to all staff of the NYSC, particularly the Press and Public Relations Unit for chronicling his achievements within the period under review for publication.

According to him, many Nigerians, including, very senior Officers of the Nigerian Army called to commend him, validating all that they have read about his performance as the true reflection of his dogged nature.

The NYSC Don however, said that one should be conscious of the fact that death can come at any time and therefore should strive to leave a worthy legacy which is of great essence in life.

The DG assured of his unwavering commitment to lift the Scheme to greater heights, while also calling on the staff of the Corps to renew their efforts in the same direction.

The Director-General further charged members of staff to play safe as Coronavirus is real.

Speaking on behalf of all staff, the Director, Information and Communication Technology, Mrs. Christy Uba appreciated the Director- General on his remarkable strides within the short period of one year. She restated the loyalty of staff to the Scheme, and prayed the Almighty God to grant the Director-General more wisdom and good health to continue with the good work he is doing.
