Daukoru was also named President of the Board of BGT.

Members are Doyin Akinyanju, Abdul Abba as well as Kyari and Nabasu.

Sylva told the appointees to discharge their responsibilities in line with Buhari’s progressive agenda.

According to Sylvia, the current board members have been on the respective boards since 2005 and it became imperative to inject fresh ideas into the governance of the companies

He applauded the chairman and other outgoing board members of NLNG and BGT for steering the companies to record successes, particularly the Train 7 FID.

He wished them good health and more successes in their future endeavours.

“To the incoming members of the Board, I congratulate you on this appointment and your selection is based on your experience, integrity and expertise. I, therefore, urge you to bring all these to bear in the discharge of your responsibilities in line with the progressive agenda of Mr President,” he said.

President Olusegun Obasanjo, in 2003, appointed Daukoru as Presidential Advisor on Petroleum and Energy.

In 2005, Obasanjo elevated him to Minister of State for Energy.

Daukoru was Secretary General of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in 2006

In 2018, he became the Amayanabo (traditional ruler) of Nembe Kingdom.

However, Ikem-Obih was a former NNPC Chief Operating Officer, Downstream.

Similarly, Sulaiman was a one-time NNPC Group Executive Director.
