The Ekiti State government has absorbed 600 new workers into it workforce.

Ekiti State Commissioner for Information Akinbowale Omole disclosed this, he said on Thursday that no fewer than 600 fresh hands had been injected into the state workforce.

Omole, who attributed the delay in the completion of the recruitment in the state to the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown, said the appointments were strictly based on merit in accordance with world best practices and irrespective of background, gender and religion.

The commissioner said in Ado Ekiti, “A total of 138 candidates, who were successful in the recent recruitment into the Ekiti State Civil Service, have been given their letters of appointment and have assumed duty, while 21 others have yet to collect their letters.
