Lagos bye-election: APC’s Abiru floors Gbadamosi in Ikorodu

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Tokunbo Abiru winner of Lagos East senatorial bye-election in Ikorodu division.

Abiru is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Andu Akala, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Local Government Collation Officer declared the result on Saturday.

Akala announced that Abiru polled 19,204 votes in all the 19 wards in Ikorodu.

Babatunde Gbadamosi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) got 3,766 votes.

The official also gave the figures for other political parties.

Action Democratic Party (ADP) – 167 votes, African Democratic Congress (ADC) – 107 votes, and African Action Congress (AAC) – 84 votes.

Meanwhile, The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. candidate in the Lagos East Senatorial District bye election, Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, BOG, has condemned the results released so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the Saturday exercise, describing it as “manipulated.”

Gbadamosi, in reaction to the exercise, said, “The election was manipulated and I was clearly rigged out.”
