Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro Leak: 2nm Chip, 12GB RAM and Up to 1TB Storage Tipped Ahead of 2027 Launch

Samsung’s rumour mill has kicked into gear again, and this time the spotlight is on a phone that didn’t even exist in the lineup a year ago: the Galaxy S27 Pro. Fresh leaks out of Korea and China point to a chip built on a 2nm process, 12GB of RAM across the board, and a storage option that tops out at a full terabyte, specs that would put the newcomer firmly in flagship territory, right between the S27+ and the S27 Ultra.

None of this is official yet. Samsung’s Unpacked event for the S27 series is still months away, expected in early 2027. But the volume and consistency of recent leaks suggest the broad strokes of the phone are starting to firm up, even if a few details are still being argued over by the leakers themselves.

A New Four-Phone Lineup

For the first time, Samsung looks set to split its flagship range into four models instead of three: the standard Galaxy S27, the S27+, the new S27 Pro, and the S27 Ultra. Leaks describe the Pro as essentially a smaller Ultra, with similar camera hardware, no S Pen, and a display size sitting around 6.47 to 6.5 inches, compared to the Ultra’s larger screen.

Pricing chatter is still thin, but one report pegs the wider S27 series starting near $899, with the Pro expected to slot in somewhere between the Plus and Ultra.

The Chip: 2nm, But Which One?

This is where the leaks start to disagree, which is fairly normal at this stage of the rumour cycle. Two separate 2nm chips are in play for the S27 Pro, depending on region:

A leaked die shot of Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2700 shows a 10-core CPU with two prime cores, a large NPU, a 16-cluster Xclipse 970 GPU, and 40MB of combined cache, built on Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 2nm process known as SF2P. The chip skips an integrated modem, meaning Samsung will pair it with an external 5G modem, much like the current Exynos 2600.

Meanwhile, other markets, the US chief among them, are expected to get a Qualcomm option instead. Leaks point to the Ultra and the new Pro sharing a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro for Galaxy chip, built on TSMC’s advanced 2nm node, with custom Orion CPU cores and a next-generation Adreno GPU aimed at big gains in single-thread performance and sustained graphics. TSMC’s own roadmap backs up the timing here: the foundry began volume production on its N2 2nm-class node in late 2025 and has been ramping capacity through 2026, well ahead of an early-2027 Galaxy S27 launch.

So the short version: wherever you’re buying your S27 Pro, a 2nm chip looks locked in. Whether it says Exynos or Snapdragon on the box is the part still up for debate.

RAM and Storage: The Interesting Bit

The clearest and most consistent leak so far concerns memory. Multiple reports trace back to a leaker known as Lanzuk, posting on the Korean blog Naver, who claims to have sourced configuration details from Weibo and Korean industry contacts.

According to that leak, here’s how the S27 Pro is expected to be configured:

Storage Tier RAM Memory Standard (rumoured)
256GB 12GB LPDDR6 (higher tiers)
512GB 12GB LPDDR6 (higher tiers)
1TB 12GB LPDDR6 (higher tiers)

The Galaxy S27 Pro is apparently going to be offered in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options, all paired with the same 12GB of RAM regardless of tier. That’s a notable detail: even at the top 1TB tier, the Pro reportedly won’t match the Ultra’s higher 16GB RAM option, despite matching its storage ceiling. The Ultra, by comparison, is expected to offer 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, and a separate 1TB variant bumped up to 16GB of RAM.

On the memory technology itself, there’s been some back-and-forth. An earlier report suggested Samsung was considering sticking with LPDDR5X for the standard S27 and S27+ rather than moving to LPDDR6, while a newer Korean rumour maintains that the Ultra and Pro will still get LPDDR6 RAM paired with UFS 5.1 storage, though possibly only on the higher-end tiers, with entry configurations missing out. If accurate, that would be a clear jump from the UFS 4.0 and LPDDR5X standards currently used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

It’s worth flagging that this level of RAM isn’t itself a surprise. The bigger story circulating alongside these leaks is a broader memory chip shortage hitting the smartphone industry, which is reportedly nudging manufacturers, Samsung included, toward holding RAM steady rather than pushing it higher this generation.

Display, Camera and Battery: What Else Is Being Said

Beyond chip and memory, a few other details have surfaced from separate leaks, though they carry a bit less certainty:

  • Display: Rumours point to Samsung’s own in-house M16 OLED panel debuting on the Pro and Ultra, promising better brightness, richer colour, and improved power efficiency over current panels.
  • Battery: A recent certification filing in China reportedly lists a 5,200mAh battery for the S27 Pro and a 5,700mAh battery for the S27 Ultra, both supporting 60-watt fast charging. That would be a meaningful jump for the Pro specifically, since it’s expected to lose the S Pen housing that eats into battery space on the Ultra.
  • Camera: Camera hardware is tipped to closely mirror the Ultra’s setup, though the telephoto lens is expected to differ between the two models.
  • Privacy Display: Samsung’s glare-reducing Privacy Display tech, currently exclusive to the Ultra, is rumoured to extend to the Pro and possibly the entire S27 line.

If the leaks hold up, the Galaxy S27 Pro is shaping up to be Samsung’s answer to buyers who want Ultra-level power, the same 2nm silicon, the same top-tier storage ceiling, without paying for the S Pen or carrying around the largest screen in the lineup. Squeezing a 1TB option under the Ultra’s price point, if pricing rumours prove accurate, could make the Pro the more interesting buy for a lot of people.

Of course, all of this sits firmly in leak territory for now. Samsung tends to keep its cards close until the weeks right before an Unpacked event, and specs have shifted between early leaks and final retail units before. Treat the RAM, chip, and storage figures here as a strong early sketch rather than a spec sheet, one that should sharpen considerably as the early-2027 launch window approaches.
