Nigerian musician Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has gotten two nods at the forthcoming 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).
Wizkid was nominated in the ‘Best R&B’ and ‘Best Cinematography’ categories, thanks to his collaborative effort with Beyonce, Blue Ivy and SAINt JHN on ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
The song, ‘Brown Skin Girl’, that just earned Wizkid two MTV VMA, scored him his first Grammy in March 2021 and a 72nd spot in the 2019 Billboard Hot 100 in 2019.
‘Brown Skin Girl’ is a song taken from Beyonce’s 2019 soundtrack album, The Lion King: The Gift.
Also, Ghanaian Dancehall musician Shatta Wale was nominated for the category of ‘Best Art Direction’ for Beyonce’s song titled ‘Already ‘, which also features Major Lazer.
