Controversial rapper Blaqbonez says he felt like a failure during his university days.
The ‘Sex over love’ crooner explained that the educational system almost made him fall into depression because he was constantly releasing music, hoping to be discovered while his mates at school were passing their courses in flying colours.
Blaqbonez, christened Emeka Akumefule, noted that he is grateful for not giving up on his dream of becoming a musician, and revealed that he can now feed his mother with the money he makes from music.
“Can’t believe I was almost depressed in University cos them engineering shit was killing me. All I wanted to do was rap. University made me feel like a failure, niggas were getting As and future looking bright.”
“I was dropping mixtapes and hoping notjustokay would post it. Really grateful for how far I’ve come. I don’t know who would have been taking care of my mum if this music didn’t work,” he wrote on Twitter.
