Many Nigerians Don’t Know Davido’s Songs –Shazam

Davido

In what appears like a win, Davido has emerged the most Shazamed artiste in Nigeria for the year 2021. In a genuine sense, why would anyone use Shazam’s application to search for a song if they knew the title and the singer?

While many of Davido’s fans would want to celebrate Shazam’s announcement of their favourite musician as the ‘Top Shazamed Artiste’ in Nigeria, it is not incorrect to say many Nigerians still cannot identify Davido’s songs, hence, they employ the services of Shazam app to find out.

Shazam is an application that recognises music, movies, advertising, and television shows, based on a short sample played and using the microphone on the device.

Recall, on September 11, CKay’s track, ‘Love Nwantiti’, became the No. 1 song on Shazam’s global charts. This is a remarkable feat for the singer because he is a budding talent.

Likewise, ‘Essence’ by Wizkid was declared the most Shazamed song in the United States of America on August 31, another testament that Wizkid is making exploits in the US.

With the popularity of Davido in Nigeria, Africa and the world, we should consider it a shortcoming for him if Nigerians still find it difficult to know his songs, hence, this should not be regarded a win for the 29-year-old.
